Glasgow Licensing Board announce general extension of hours for inaugural European Championships

We understand that City of Glasgow  Licensing Board has granted a general extension of licensed hours by one hour to celebrate the city hosting the inaugural European Championships in August this year.

This is a new multi-sport event bringing together some of the continent’s leading sports including the existing European Championships for Athletics, Aquatics, Cycling, Gymnastics, Rowing and Triathlon with a new Golf Team Championships.

Notification of the extension will be given by way of a notice on the Licensing Board pages of the Council’s website but there will be no written notification to individual licence holders. So keep an eye out on the website for specific details of the general extension

It has also been indicated by the Board that there will NOT be a requirement for licence holders to advise the Licensing Board that they intend to use the extension.

The Board have stated the general extension will apply to licensed hours which commence on 1 August to 12 August inclusive, to coincide with the start of Festival 2018 with the Great Big Opening Party on 1 August and the following 11 days of sport between 2 and 12 August.
